Network Privacy and Safety Notice

1Relationship to the Privacy Policy

FocalShift.Network is a FocalShift service. The Política de privacidade describes our general collection, use, disclosure, retention, security, and individual-rights practices. This Notice provides Network-specific detail. Where marketplace activity is involved, the Network Commerce and Marketplace Terms also apply.

2Network information we process

We may process profile details, biography, image, business and professional information, verification status, posts and uploads, groups, connections and follows, reactions, comments, mentions, searches, preferences, blocks, reports, messages, event activity, listings, orders, sponsorship activity, reviews, transaction status, device and log data, and information inferred from interactions such as likely interests or account relationships.

3Public and limited-audience content

Information designated public may be visible to anyone, appear in search and recommendations, be indexed by external search engines, and be copied or reshared. Content shared with a limited audience is made available according to selected settings, but recipients may capture or disclose it. Removing content from the Network does not remove copies created by other people or external services.

4Messages and member communications

We process messages and related metadata to deliver communications, prevent abuse, investigate reports, provide support, and comply with law. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted unless the feature expressly states that they are. People you communicate with may retain, report, screenshot, or disclose messages. Do not send highly sensitive information unless necessary and appropriate.

5Discovery and contact features

If contact discovery or address-book matching is offered, it will use information you choose to provide and permissions available on your device or connected account. You are responsible for having authority to upload another person’s contact information. Available controls may allow you to disconnect a source, limit discovery, or remove uploaded contacts.

6Feeds, recommendations, and sponsorships

We use interactions, connections, topic and format signals, recency, quality, safety indicators, language, approximate location, and preferences to organize and recommend content, people, groups, and listings. Sponsored content may also reflect audience selections and contextual or interaction signals. More detail appears in the Feed and Recommendation Transparency Policy.

7Location information

We may infer approximate location from an IP address or receive location you choose to add to a profile, post, event, listing, or search. Do not publish a precise location when doing so would create safety risk. Device-level precise location will be requested only when a feature needs it and applicable permission is provided.

8Live sessions, rooms, and recording

FocalShift does not record your calls. A one-to-one call with a lead may carry video and a shared screen. While the call is running that video and audio pass through the service so the two of you can see and hear each other, and then they are gone: FocalShift does not record the call, does not save the audio or the video, and has no setting — in your account or in ours — that turns recording on. When the call ends there is nothing to publish, nothing to clip, and nothing to delete. The same is true of a live broadcast you send to your FocalShift page: it is carried while it is running and it is not recorded, which is described in the Data Processing Addendum.

Where you turn on the assistant, it writes a transcript and nothing else. If you invite FocalShift's assistant into a call, you are told before it joins and the other person is told it is there and may decline. It converts speech to text as the call runs; the audio is never written to disk and never kept. The transcript is text, it belongs to you, and it is deleted 30 days after the call. FocalShift does not build a voiceprint, does not use your voice to identify you, and does not use a recording of you to train anything, because there is no recording.

Another participant may still record you. Anyone in a call can capture it with tools outside our control, as they can with any call. Tell participants before you record, obtain the consent and the releases that apply where each of you is — in some places every party must agree, and recording without that agreement is a criminal offence — and do not publish someone who declined. The rules that will govern recording inside FocalShift when that feature ships are set out in the Live Sessions and Recording Policy, which also says plainly what the Services do today. Report a recording made or published without consent through that Policy or FocalShift Contact.

9Connections, mutual connections, and connection paths

Your connections are Network information. Depending on your settings and the surface, another member may be able to see your connection count, your connections, communities you belong to, that you and they share a mutual connection, how many intermediate connections separate you, and — where a feature is designed to show it — the name of a mutual connection through whom you are linked. A displayed connection path necessarily tells the viewer that the named intermediary is connected to both of you, so treat a connection as information about the connection, not only about you.

Connection relationships are derived from connections and interactions on the Network. Available controls may let you limit who can see your connections, opt out of appearing in connection paths shown to others, hide your connection count, restrict connection requests, and remove a connection; opting out of connection-path display removes you as a named intermediary going forward but does not retract what another member already saw. If we launch or materially change a connection-path or degrees-of-separation feature, we will describe it here and provide notice and controls where required.

10Newsletters, subscriber lists, and member-sent messages

When you subscribe to a member’s newsletter, community digest, or paid membership, that member receives your subscription and the contact details you provide, becomes the controller of that relationship, and is the sender of the messages you receive. FocalShift provides the sending infrastructure and processes delivery, bounce, complaint, and engagement information to operate and protect it. Unsubscribing from a member’s list stops that member’s messages; it does not close your account, does not unsubscribe you from other members, and does not stop service and security notices from FocalShift.

Members must send only to people who gave them a lawful basis or consent, must honor unsubscribes and suppression, and must include the identification and postal-address information that law requires. A member may export its own subscriber list; export does not transfer your consent to another platform, and a member must obtain fresh permission where the destination requires it. Report unwanted, deceptive, or non-consensual sending through the report control in the message or FocalShift Contact. We may suppress an address across the platform, throttle or pause a sender, and act under the Acceptable Use Policy.

11Safety tools and moderation

Network safety features may include audience settings, block, mute, report, keyword or message controls, verification, fraud signals, and moderation. We process relevant account and content information to operate these tools, investigate potential violations, prevent repeat abuse, and protect members. Reports may include information about the reporting person and reported account, although we generally do not disclose the reporter’s identity to the reported member unless required by law.

12How Network information is shared

We share information according to member settings and actions; with other FocalShift services needed to operate the connected platform; with contracted hosting, security, payment, analytics, communications, support, and moderation providers; with transaction counterparties where necessary to complete a purchase; and for safety, legal process, corporate transactions, or other purposes described in the Privacy Policy.

13Retention and deletion

Retention depends on account status, content type, transactions, disputes, legal duties, safety risk, fraud prevention, backup cycles, and the need to enforce agreements. Deleted public content may persist in caches, backups, search indexes, lawful resharing, or records needed for safety and legal compliance. Transaction, payout, tax, and enforcement records may be retained after account deletion.

14Controls and rights

Available controls may allow you to edit profile information, choose audiences, manage follows, mute or block accounts, control recommendations, review connected services, and delete content or an account. Depending on location, you may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, opt-out, or appeal as described in the Privacy Policy.
