Known issues
FocalShift is in beta. This is the honest list of what is not finished yet — what the product will do, what you will see when it does, and what to do instead. It is long on purpose. We would rather you read it here than find it on your own.
Last updated 19 September 2026 (evening)
This list was written on 18 September and re-checked against the running product on the 19th. Twenty-three of the things on it had been fixed in between, and three more went on the evening of the 19th; they are listed at the foot of this page rather than quietly deleted, so you can see what moved. What people report sets the order, and we go fastest first.
Maven can be confidently wrong about things it was not given. It is reliable about what is in front of it, and it now tells you when it answered from memory rather than opening your records. Take that sentence seriously.
What to do: Say “check my products, bookings or tasks and tell me again.”
The Help centre’s “Plan with Maven” prompt now carries your own unanswered customer questions into the assistant, so it has something real to work from. The prompt is still a blunt instrument: ask it to plan articles you have no questions for and it will say so — and that answer is no longer charged.
Go Live: a drafted show can now be opened and edited again from the shows table. A draft or a finished show can now be deleted from the table, behind a confirm. A show that is live or scheduled still cannot be — the product says so rather than failing.
Automation Center: the builder labels every block with what it really does. As this is written, thirty-three blocks work, four work in part and nine are marked “Not working yet.” The labels are honest; believe them, and build with the ones that work.
Search finds your own work: boards, cards, products, invoices, forms, pages, documents, files, and now StoryBoards, the people in your company and your events. Memberships, podcasts, live shows and mail campaigns are still not searchable, and other people’s public things can rank above your own.
Teaching in Academy is closed until an instructor application is approved by a person. Applying now files a ticket with our support desk, and we answer within two days.
We have now walked retail, mail campaigns, the media library, files and Academy ourselves and fixed what that walk found — a retail lock that showed the wrong page, four different sub-menus in mail, two lessons playing sample footage, an upload that failed without saying why. Those corners are no longer unproved, but they are the newest, so they are the likeliest place to find something we missed.
A teammate’s changes appear within about five seconds — but not while you have a card drawer, a modal or a composer open. You see a quiet pill instead, and the board refreshes when you choose. That is deliberate: we will not move things under your cursor while you type.
Teams: there is no ownership transfer. An owner can disband a team — restorable for a month, and everyone keeps what they made — but cannot hand it to someone else. The page says so where you would look for it.
Your business can end up with three different web addresses — one for the site and shop, one for retail, one on the network. They all work; they are not yet one name.
Odds and ends: the empty Clients page no longer draws a ghost client card, a voided invoice no longer leaves a card you cannot act on, the Wallet no longer offers to pay out money you do not have, and a free paid tier is now refused with a sentence that names the switch you actually want. The one left: the Clients page with no clients still draws an empty detail card beside the empty list.
Reports work and duplicates fold together, but moderation during the beta is done by hand by us, not by a staffed desk.
What to do: Send it through the Feedback button too and it will be faster.
One of twenty-one channel types is connected for you today: a paired WordPress site, through our own two plugins. The page prints that count itself, and it will move as each one opens.
Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar and your own video-meeting account now read “Needs platform keys” or “Not yet available”. The missing half is no longer ours: the road that brings you back from the provider and stores the connection is built and live. What is missing is our own developer registration with each of those companies. When that lands, the card grows a Connect button and works.
X: posting is unavailable until our own API credits there are funded. You can connect the account today; X refuses every post until then, and the card says so before you press Connect.
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube say “Needs platform keys.” Our developer applications for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok were submitted on 18 September and are in review at those companies; business verification and app review run one to three weeks, and the TikTok audit keeps posts private until it passes. LinkedIn and YouTube have not been applied for yet.
Pinterest: the card now says what it really does — it reads your boards into At a Glance, and publishing comes at launch. There is no Pinterest publisher behind it yet.
Telegram and text messaging: the slots exist behind the scenes, the keys are empty, and neither is offered to you as something to connect.
Nothing can be charged to you and nothing can be charged by you. Billing is closed across the whole platform by a single switch that fails closed. Every Upgrade, plan change and credit purchase refuses and charges nothing. Our payment processor is still in test mode by design.
Payouts are not open, and the card now names the reason instead of saying nothing: the payout side of our payment processor is not registered yet, so earnings accrue and cannot be paid out. Your wallet, earnings and money-flow pages read “not connected” honestly.
Your customers cannot pay you through FocalShift yet. A storefront checkout stops and says card payment is not switched on for the shop. A paid booking honestly offers “Pay at the appointment” rather than promising a checkout it cannot give.
Referrals: your link, your click count and your commission rate and term are all real and shown to you now, and “Request payout” is a real request that reaches a person. Nothing can actually be paid while payouts are closed, so what you are watching is an account building up, not money moving.
Assistant credits are real and metered. Each answer is one credit, an image is ten and a video is forty. If you run out, Maven says so in its own voice and charges nothing.
Calls are half here. From a lead record you can tap a number to dial it on a phone, press “Log a call” to write down what was said, and open a video-call link on the record. What does not exist yet: a one-to-one video room inside FocalShift, and the assistant listening in a call and writing the notes for you.
What to do: Meet on whatever you already use and paste the link on the booking — it rides the confirmation mail.
There is no phone app you can install. It is built and waiting on our developer enrolment with the app store; there is no test invitation to give you yet. We will write when there is.
What to do: The web app works on a phone browser — every page is built for a small screen.
The product no longer calls itself by its old two-word name on any member page — we re-checked on the evening of the 19th and found none, the theme designer included — but the logo image itself still reads the old name, plus the phone app’s own text. Seventy-four files still carry it out of sight. The name is FocalShift.
Pages are heavy. The marketing home page is about one megabyte and a page inside Mission Control is one to one and a half. Fine on a laptop, slower on a weak phone signal. We took a megabyte off the home page this week and there is more to take.
“Delete this board” is now available from inside a board, behind the same confirm as the grid.
You can post a photo to the feed — up to four, the same size and type rules as direct messages.
A hashtag you remove when editing a post now leaves the index.
Maven now streams its answer as it writes, instead of making you watch “thinking…”.
The video button prints “Generate · 40 credits” before you press it, from the same figure the charge is taken from.
In AI Studio the Delete button no longer hides under the Maven bubble.
The form builder click that was billed as a credit with no assistant behind it is now metered at zero, along with sixteen others like it.
The API-keys page says “0% your keys” when you have connected none, instead of crediting you with coverage you never had.
Maven Today’s clock reads in your own timezone; the date and the hour agree.
Creating a form twice no longer makes two of them. The duplicate we could actually reproduce was in mail campaigns, and that is the one that was fixed.
Renaming a membership programme moves its public web address with it, and the old address keeps working.
Brand Kits: “Save and Continue” now saves.
The All Tools left rail and the All Tools page now list the same things — checked by a tool that runs on demand and reads zero differences.
Client Work: an engagement can be linked to a client, archived and deleted after you create it.
Point of Sale refuses with a page that explains it is a Premium feature and offers you the way back, not a bare error.
A card can carry a file. The drawer has an attachment again, and the card shows a paperclip and a count.
StoryBoards: the desk is real. It has a composer, it holds the argument, and a message can be promoted into an update.
A published page from the site builder now carries a heading, navigation and a route to your shop.
Events have a short address on your own site again, instead of a long link inside the app.
An invoice can be read and paid from a private link, with no password and no account — and the invoice mail now carries that link.
Commenting on the network no longer reloads the page; the comment simply appears.
Removing your own message removes it properly: Mission Control shows “Message removed”, and the file you sent stops being reachable by its link.
Mission Control’s Conversations page calls network messages “Messages”, with an unread count, instead of hiding them behind the Team tab.
Links from Mission Control into the network land where the label says.
A booking confirmation carries a real calendar file as an attachment.
There is a developer page with documentation to build against. API keys are part of the paid plans: a Free account sees the reference and one honest sentence instead of a key form.
If you hit something that is not on this list, that is exactly the thing we want to hear about. Every page inside the product has a small फीडबैक button at the edge of the screen — Bug, Idea or Praise, ten seconds, and a person reads every one.
There is no separate status page yet, so this is it: when something is broken across the whole platform it is written here, plainly, with the date it was written. The Support Hub is where to go for anything about your own account.
Everything above is what we have not finished. Everything else is working, and the list gets shorter every week.
