1Purpose and responsibility
This Policy governs copyright, trademark, publicity, trade-secret, and other intellectual-property complaints across FocalShift and FocalShift.Network. You must own or have permission to use content, code, prompts, outputs, designs, logos, courses, files, datasets, listings, and media you upload, publish, sell, or process.
2Submitting a copyright notice
Send a written notice to copyright@focalshift.ai that includes: a physical or electronic signature of the owner or authorized agent; identification of the copyrighted work; identification and location of the material at issue, including a URL when available; your address, telephone number, and email; a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or law; and a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act.
3Our response
We may remove or disable access to material identified in a complete notice, take reasonable steps to notify the affected member, request clarification, preserve relevant records, and forward the notice and contact information as needed to administer the process. We may reject incomplete or abusive notices.
4Counter-notice
If material was removed by mistake or misidentification, the affected member may send a counter-notice to copyright@focalshift.ai containing a physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and its former location; a statement under penalty of perjury of a good-faith belief that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification; the member’s name, address, and telephone number; consent to the jurisdiction of the applicable U.S. federal district court; and agreement to accept service from the original complainant or its agent.
5Restoration after a counter-notice
We will forward a valid counter-notice to the original complainant. We may restore the material not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after receiving it unless the complainant notifies us that a court action has been filed seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.
6Repeat infringers
We may restrict or terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. We may consider valid notices and counter-notices, court orders, member history, severity, bad faith, and other relevant information.
7Trademark and other rights
Trademark, trade-dress, publicity-rights, trade-secret, or patent complaints may be sent to copyright@focalshift.ai with ownership or registration information, the material and location at issue, contact information, and an explanation of the alleged violation.
8False claims and process abuse
False or abusive notices and counter-notices can carry legal consequences. We may request more information, reject deficient submissions, restore content after a valid counter-notice, and act against anyone who abuses an intellectual-property process.
9AI-generated content
AI output can raise copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, licensing, and authorship questions. You are responsible for reviewing output and ensuring that its use, sale, publication, or distribution is lawful and non-infringing. See the AI Use and Generated Content Policy.
10Designated agent
FocalShift has designated an agent to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement, and the designation is on file with the United States Copyright Office. Send notices and counter-notices to the designated agent at the address below; email to Copyright@focalshift.ai reaches the same agent and is the fastest route. A notice sent to that address is treated as received on the date it arrives.

Designating an agent and publishing the agent’s name, address, telephone number and electronic-mail address is a statutory step for service-provider protections under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2). Nothing in this Policy waives any right or defense available to FocalShift.

11Member-hosted websites and infrastructure
Where a member operates a website, application, store, or file on FocalShift managed hosting or infrastructure, that member is the publisher of the material and is responsible for its rights clearance. Send a notice about hosted material to copyright@focalshift.ai and identify, in addition to the elements listed above, the hosted domain or subdomain, the full URL of each item, and the date observed, so the material can be located precisely.
For hosted material we may, depending on the notice and the risk, remove or disable the specific item, disable a directory or route, restore from a prior backup where the member requests it after removing the infringing material, suspend the site, or suspend the hosting account for repeat infringement. We will notify the affected member where legally permitted and will forward a valid counter-notice, after which the same restoration timing described above applies. Removal of hosted material does not delete the member’s remaining data or terminate the hosting service unless the account is suspended or terminated under the Account Suspension and Termination Policy. Hosting rights and duties are set out in the Hosting and Infrastructure Addendum.
12Transparency
We publish aggregate figures about how this Policy is used: notices received, items placed on hold, notices refused as deficient, counter-notices received, material restored after a counter-notice, strikes issued and voided, and accounts terminated for repeat infringement. The figures are counts for each calendar quarter and for the trailing twelve months. They contain no information about any member, claimant, or individual notice, and they are published whether the numbers are large or zero.
Material identified in a complete notice is placed on hold and is not deleted. A hold makes the item unavailable to readers while the notice is open; it is reversible, and where a hold is released the item returns as it was. We aim to act on a complete notice within twenty-four hours of receiving it.
Repeat infringement. A strike is recorded against an account when a complete, valid notice about its content is not answered by a counter-notice within the statutory window — not when material is first placed on hold. A strike expires twelve months after it is recorded, and a strike is voided, and never counted again, where the material is restored, the complainant retracts the notice, or we conclude the notice was made in bad faith. Where an account holds three live strikes within any twelve-month period, it is referred for suspension under the Account Suspension and Termination Policy. A suspension on this ground is decided by a person, never automatically, and is reversible on appeal; we notify the affected member where legally permitted.
Counter-notices. Where a valid counter-notice is received we forward it to the original complainant and restore the material not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days later, unless the complainant notifies us that a court action has been filed. A case answered by a counter-notice does not produce a strike.
We may publish redacted copies of notices we receive to the Lumen Database, which collects and studies legal complaints about online content. Where we do, the copy is redacted of personal contact information before it is submitted.
Trailing twelve months
