A consultant finishes a session and writes three lines of notes on the client’s own record, where the last session, the invoice and the next date already live. She closes the laptop. The follow-up she promised goes out the next morning without her.
Weeks later the client mentions something in passing, and she can see what they agreed to try and what happened after. Nothing was remembered by heart. It was simply written down somewhere that opens.
The practice has not grown busier. It has grown steadier — because the parts that used to depend on her attention now depend on the platform instead.
